Product Release, Sales & Distribution Launch of
ORALSCAN

OralScan was released by the Hon’ble Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Smt. K. K. Shailaja Teacher, at Minister’s Chamber, Government Secretariat at 12.50 pm on the 28th of October 2020.
Considering the Covid-19 scenario in the country, Dr. Asha Kishore, the Director of SCTIMST, officially launched product distribution and sales via an Online function organized later in the evening by TIMed-SCTIMST by handing over the first product to Mr. Ketan Parmar from Innovate India, Surat, Gujarat. The meeting started with a briefing about TIMed and the event by Dr. Sunitha Chandran, Business Development Manager at TIMed, followed by the Welcome address by Mr Vinodkumar Damodaran, Director – Marketing, Sascan Meditech. Later, Dr Subhash Narayanan, the CEO of Sascan gave an overview of the bimodal OralScan device built on a multispectral imaging platform for detection of oral potentially malignant lesions and its application as a biopsy guidance tool with the help of a cloud-based machine learning algorithm.
The OralScan product video was presented, followed by a video of the Product Release function by Minister of Health, Smt. K.K. Shailaja Teacher and her address highlighting the potential for implementation of OralScan through the 3 Regional Cancer Centers at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Calicut in the State.
Chief Guest Dr. Asha Kishore made the key-note address and the first sale of the device to Mr. Ketan Parmar, in the presence of dignitaries and Scientists from SCTIMST. This was followed by a brief acceptance speech from Mr. Ketan Parmar.
Felicitations were given by Dr. Shyam Vasudev Rao, Founder Director, Forus Health Pvt Ltd and Renalyx Health Systems Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, Dr. Anita Balan, Principal, Govt Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram, Dr. Bipin Gopal, State Nodal Officer for NCD and Asst Director, Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and Mr. S. Balram, CEO, TIMed, SCTIMST, Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. Ranimol Prasanna, Sascan Meditech, delivered the vote of thanks.
