Dr. Vishal Rao has vast experience in the field of Oncology and Head & Neck Surgery and has been trained in Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital at Mumbai. As a self-motivating medical expert, Dr. Rao has invented the affordable AUM voice prosthesis to help throat cancer patients get their lost voice back. He believes in prevention to palliation approach in oncology and works with several groups on holistic healing.

Dr Vishal is a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Otolaryngology in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, USA, Consultant at the Institute of Public Health and the Director of the Cancer Prevention and Tobacco Control Project with W.H.O Tobacco Free Initiatives partners .

He is Member of the Union for International Cancer control (UICC) Globalink – Global Tobacco Control; Member of National Executive Committee for the Foundation of Head and Neck Oncology (FHNO); Executive Board Member of the State Association for Otolaryngology – Head Neck Surgery, Karnataka and a Member of the Action Council against Tobacco (ACT) – India.

Dr. Vishal has attended various national and international conferences and CME in which he has held the position of a distinguished guest many times. He has published his work in international and national medical journals and has been a reviewer for many international medical journals.  He always takes up social initiatives, especially on tobacco-awareness and dreams of a tobacco-free world.
