Junior Biomedical Engineer
Phebe George has recently joined the R&D team at Sascan as a Junior Biomedical Engineer. Before joining the company she had the opportunity of getting involved in the R&D activities of the company on a one-year internship as part of her M.Tech Biomedical Engineering final year project. During the internship period she worked in the area of light tissue interactions, optical phantom calibrations, in-house assembly and testing of the Cerviscan and other diagnostic devices developed by Sascan.
She holds a bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from University of Kerala. Her undergraduate project was in the area of biomedical signal processing and medical instrumentation, which was instrumental in her entering into the interdisciplinary field of medical engineering.
She holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. Her MTech project work Non-invasive detection of cervical cancer using bimodal imaging techniques was well appreciated by the reviewers. Her areas of interest include Bio-Medical Instrumentation, Embedded Systems and Biomedical Image Processing.
Phebe enjoys reading crime novels and playing keys in her pastime. She is a passionate and optimistic person.
