The Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Nellikuzhy, Kothamangalam, Kerala, has been engaged in the screening and early detection of Oral cancer for the past several years with support from the Rotary Club of Perumbavoor, Kerala. As part of the ongoing activities, the Rotary Club has procured an ISSUSU bus with to dental chairs and all other facilities, including our flagship product, OralScan for screening of potentially malignant lesions of the oral cavity in the rural population. This project is headed by Dr Eldo T Paul, the Vice-Principal of IGIDS. The OralScan device procured by the Rotary Club for this campaign has been installed and the clinicians have been trained to operate the device in the field bus in the first week of February 2021.
The device was handed over to Dr Eldo Paul and COO Mr. Bijesh of the IGIDS, Kothamangalam on 5th February 2021, by Dr Subhash Narayanan, the CEO of Sascan Meditech, in the presence of Mr Rinoy Suvarnadas and Dr Ranimol Prasanna.
The Oral cancer screening facility operated by IGIDS will be inaugurated by Smt Shylaja Teacher, the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, GoK, on the 26th of February 2020. This will be the first of its kind in Kerala for Oral cancer screening. We at Sascan are extremely proud to be associated with this initiative.
